There is something pretty great about the middle.

The middle is the place where you come together; it is the in-between, it’s the compromise, it’s the heart, the details. The middle is that catchy song from the Target commercials. The middle is my son, the second of my three children.

We live in the middle, every day after the day we are born until the day that we die, we are in the middle of our lives. The middle is where the living happens. So many are in a rush to finish, and finishing well is important, but so is the middle. The middle is where the story develops. Every book, movie, tv-show, and song relies on the middle; without the middle, the end wouldn’t make any sense.

There is beauty in the middle when we come together when we compromise, sharing in the sacrifice and the win. The middle is doing the hard work, the fun work, and it’s building up; it’s where we find our resolve.

The beginning is exciting and new, and in the end, we hope for satisfaction, a job well done. Whether it’s writing a book, working toward a personal goal, or working on a project, the details and the building blocks all happen in the beautiful journey called the middle.
